Let me start by saying derailment, trolling and all that jazz is not welcome here. I am actually interested in this information so please use the thread for its intended purposes.
This thread will be used for help in working with the code that makes changes to IC, or this will just be my help thread, but it does not matter to me.
Currently, I am attempting at creating another button in the lab. My problem right now is that adding (not changing) anything in the research lua is crashing the game. I made changes to the keybindings and taskbar (this one has a tooooooon of code) lua that didn't cause any crash. This might be because these two require ties in with the research lua.
If I am unable to complete this task I will except that we are currently unable to add any buildings or building abilities/research. If this is the case, I will then spend my time looking at the changes I can make to the code to make some cool difference, and possibly work on my on mod. If I make a mod I am not sure if I will base it off of tel or II. Whichever I choose it will probably be easy to transfer the changes if they are wanted.

You can't create a new button and expect it to do anything without learning C++ first as far as I know.
You'll also have to fuck around in GUILayout.

i dont think youll manage it without going fully tc and yeah, guilayout is prrobably your best bet but nobody knows how to use it

I wish I could help more...for now, I guess I could just encourage you. :3 I am probably not going to be cracking anything open as I just don't know enough to be able to do so. Maybe some time down the road I may learn enough to be able to do something big, but I think I am going to focus on some of the parts I understand and look for some beneficial changes for our current gameplay.

OK here are some current things
I can't figure out how to stop the gyro from glitching when multiples are made at once. I have one more idea, but it isn't my ideal method.
I believe I may be able to make the multi building select work through taskbar.lua, but the code is pretty rough.
I want to look at the .ebp files for the buildings and what not, but it won't let me in for whatever reason.
If anyone could take a look at this (mainly the .ebp one) that would be awesome.

Here are my current changes I have made. Most are really untested, but are problems that I have seen/discussed in the past or just changes I find others may enjoy. Please post feedback on these as well.
Changelog:
Added multi gyrocopters --if people would actually enjoy this Increased gyrocopter cost Reduced gyrocopter building lead in/out Increased gyrocopter gather rate --this will require some balancing Changed gyrocopter prerequisite to building integrity Incread gyrocopters airlift radius Reduced various gyrocopter crate times
Increased R4 cost --not sure how I feel about this one Increased building starting percentage Reduced art multiplier on henchmen Reduced AI expert bonuses
Increased SB/AA upgrade cost Increased SB/AA upgrade level to R4 Reduced AA delay time
Reduced electric burst damage Increased electric burst radius Increased quill burst cost Reduced web time Changed loner rank to R3 Increased loner damage reduction
The goal I have is to take away from some of the overpowered things especially the ones that have been recognized as too strong to really even used in games. I also want to boost some of the lesser used abilities and what not.
Still need to get into building ebps some figure this out for me ;D
