Why aren't we playing on floe, crag and high tide anyways? Everyone is still sticking to eroded and ice and like tier (or something like it).
Crag is usually first pick for me but some of the newer players don't have the tel map pack. That's it really, nothing wrong with a bit of crag. If someone could throw together a sort of "information central sticky" with all the download links and info for hamachi groups and the skype chat that would be great. I know we have a torrent up (thanks again for that btw) but some folks don't use the torrent and don't have all the files we need. I would do it but I don't even know what files we need, what order to install things in, hamachi groups etc. Also could someone go make a quick thread on ICH directing any stragglers our way? I would do it myself but I couldn't get access to my account and already forgot the pass for my new one (making that 5 accounts on icp and 4 on ich lol).
I like floe as a map because it encourages team play and water based armies however I think the isles at the sides only being accessible from the front and back ends diminishes the value of water units since the only way in is to go a long route then through a rather tight chokepoint. I'd make the side islands a bit more like Islets, where the islands are accessible from every direction. This makes them harder to defend and easier to attack from the water, which should let us see more water unit usage. That's just me though, I'd like to hear more people's thoughts on floe.
High Tide was pretty fun when I played on it. Again the only reason we don't see it as much is because half the people don't have the files.
I've noticed on a few maps that the areas where you can build on don't end where they should. For instance, check out this replay at around the 1 minute mark:

Blother and I both fence eachother in, however Blother's fence doesn't work and I'm able to slip some henchmen through even though they should be blocked off. The player should be able to make judgements based on the way the map looks without getting screwed over like that.
One last thing, can you guys make use of the Time of Day function when making your maps? You can access it in ME by going scenario > terrain properties. The reason I ask is that a lot of Tel maps are really dark and hard to see in. I don't think it's a personal thing because I've seen other people complain about it too. Obviously you shouldn't be able to see FOW or anything but it's so dark and depressing and all the shadows look the same on every map because the time isn't set properly.
