Trying to play IC with my bud, but I can't host a game.
With IC and II, I get a dialog box saying "please wait" and it crashes. With Tel, it doesn't go anything when I press to host the game.
Anyone know how to fix?

If you got IC via the full install, hosting via 1.1 and II is screwed up for...some reason. Tel should work though, so I don't know what's happening there. This version of IC shouldn't have any problems though: www.dropbox.com/s/dk5eelhk4x5nouu/ic.7z You'll have to update to 2.01 after extracting.

So I replace my 'Impossible Creatures' folder with that one?
Did that and installed 2.01 and still doesn't work, even after I disabled my firewall to test it.

Did you completely delete your old one first rather than overwriting? (It's alright to save the profiles folder so you don't lose your armies and replays)
Please Wait errors wouldn't be a firewall issue, but a problem with the game itself. Make sure IC is completely removed before you reinstall. You may also need to forward ports 2301 and/or 2351, though that doesn't sound like the problem, either...
I'd also suggest joining us on Skype. You'll be able to play online with a lot more people and it will be a lot easier to help you in real time. Add puglinic as a contact if you'd like to join the IC groups there.

Steve found this: In case anyone finds this thread in a distant future, try this, worked for me after.

I just changed mine to Tel and now I can actually host a game but it won't start? Does someone else have to be in the game for it to start?

You can't start a game without at least two (human) players in the lobby.
