From ICH, because I don't want to damage poor Camilla's modding spirit:
DUDE.
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT WE AT TEL HAVE BEEN SAYING ALL ALONG.
This is what happens when you 'combine all the mods'. Most of the individual mods are terrible. Did you really believe a conglomeration of them could be any better? Chain's only as strong as its weakest link. And when almost all of the links are broken to begin with...
Seriously. Having the maximum number of stock creatures possible (especially when most of them are just renamed pre-existing stocks) does not a good mod make.

It makes a good mod if you know what you're doing.
Or if you're Will.

I agree, I played with dok on gc yesterday, and it was broken as fuck.
Basilisk range 90? Seriously?
I wouldn't mind having the mod as long as it would be balanced.

It isn't that combining the mods is the "bad thing"
It's that no effort is put into FIXING the problems of the individual mods. If some time was taken to iron out and polish all the broken shit from IOTKA or Wolverale's Animal Insanity then it would be fine. It has nothing to do with it being a Mega-Mod.

But... Like... All of the animals in Animal Insanity are broken. That's there only reason for existing-- to be broken. If you make them balanced, suddenly they're exactly the same as the stock creatures their models are copied from.

And IoTKA was pretty much made to be silly, from what I've seen. It can't mesh with other mods unless you change pretty much everything about it.

Animal insanity can be fixed.
Some creatures, like the bull frog, lizard and badger i liked. But don't even get me started on the basilisk.

I realize that a lot of the things in the mod are extremely broken.

But Animal Insanity, for instance, is broken in every single way. As far as I know, Wolvey just made it because he figured all that stuff he put in would be fun-- he didn't think about balance at all (which is fine, because he was making the mod for himself, and if he found it fun that's all that really mattered).
I just don't understand how putting AnIn content into a supermod could be considered a good idea.
And if you change all the balance, then you're not Really combining mods at all-- just making your own, with everyone else's models. The whole concept of "Let's just have as many stock creatures as possible regardless of quality or balance" is so bizarre to me.

You do have a point will. I have realized that quality>quanity. I saw the premade armies in GS and was apalled. Every army screams power, not strategy. Clearly chamillas didn't think it over well enough.
(and let's talk on skype bout this)

I just wanted to add my input...
There is really no reason for all the mods to be put together. Only 1-2 mods (depending on the gameplay not the stock) are really necessary for the sake of playing different types of games. The reason why I like tel is that it doesn't stray very far from the main game, but adds in more possible combos with their nicely made stock. All the new stock don't create a drastic change from the original feel of the game, but instead loosens its restrictions. Many of the mods gamestyles (which are meant to be broken) don't really fit tel's style, or other mods' styles, so they should be kept separate.
The only other mod I would like to see is one that takes away the massing part of the game. Slower creature production and a lower cap that emphasizes on using strategies instead of overrunning the enemy with a shit ton of op creatures. There are a lot of ways to achieve something like this, but it might not actually work as intended. Regardless, I might take a look into something like this in the future if people would be interested in this type of playstyle.

The only good point for a sort of a megamod is to make transitions easier.
I spent a few hours in Tel's army maker mourning the loss of some incredibly useful CC creatures, like the fox, frown and alien.
Every mod should have stock creatures with stats like that, they bring so much to the table.
