The 3x 1v1 strategy appeared because a single bad player in a team could ruin the game for his entire team. This way you have one definite 1v1 with no outside influences and a massive clusterfuck afterwards. You get both, basically.

This way you have one definite 1v1 with no outside influences and a massive clusterfuck afterwards. You get both, basically. The bad player still gets beaten in a 1v1 and the other team still has an advantage. The way around this is to not attack anyone once you have won your 1v1 and have to wait until someone on your team has been killed. At this point, you should win anyways because you have an economic and research advantage over the opponent who has been fighting the entire time. On maps where teams are actually put next to each other the good player has the ability to protect the lower player because he has no choice as he is protecting himself. Takes less resources to move an army a few feet then all the way across the water on eroded. If the player is that bad compared to the players on the other team, then the team will lose regardless in the end unless the good player can do something about it.

Aye. At any rate, nowadays it isn't just about the map geography. There's at least two bad players in every 3v3 game, because the good-bad ratio has shifted. So you can just put one bad player on each team and have a proper team battle like Blother wants. Currently it gets to the stage where you have games like one Visser was telling me about-- a 2v2 with Mut and Sniper where Visser killed his enemy and then had to sit back and watch Mut and Sniper have a 1v1 because he wasn't allowed to intervene.
Gay.
Super gay.
There is no point to team games like that. It isn't a team game, you're doing it wrong.

I would at least like to play more team-oriented games to at least see how that would work out. Preferably without sniper and mut. I love playing with them and finding different creatures to use, but they aren't the most fond of new things with IC.
Oh btw elephagon lol
