EDIT: I should actually first note that this is a possible way to deal with what everyone considers "balancing issues." Most people have different ideas of what is balanced and what is not, so this will be to create rule sets for specific ways people want to play putting everyone on the same page.
I played again for the first time in a while with a new guy, and we went through the same stuff of what creatures we don't usually like to play against because of brokenness and what not. This gave me the idea (as well as from playing online pokemon which is actually fun) that we should create a set of rules for certain styles of play. I'll list some of my ideas and let you guys discuss it a bit and add to it to see if this is worth going into.
Banning op creatures: homobirds, condor/fish, behem/eel, etc.
No rush X : XX (i have seen something like this before like nr5 and what not)
No fliers
No ability (ie stink, flash, assassinate, plague, basically the odd ones that aren't used often)
The only real important one i think would be the op creatures one, which i believe could be expanded to different levels. For example, everyone hates homobirds, but someone may find that rattle/horses are too OP to use. We could create a second tier for creatures like those that are pretty strong, but not completely detrimental to the game. Please list ideas and additions to ideas and why you think it would be beneficial to the game.
Also, this wouldn't be something that is used in every game, but something said before a game, like no tier 1 op creatures and no rush 5:00, or something along those lines.
