I noticed Ram doesn't have Herding in Tell? Why is that? And Behemoth's Poison Bite has been removed? Behemoth seems very....under-developed... I don't want Behemoth to be broken...but it should be a true monster with at least a few abilities.... And why was Arma's Digging removed? and didn't Skunk have Digging at some point? ...it's so hard to keep up with the differences in every mod's creatures  |

Most of the changes you talk about were made by Smod or CC. We merely reverted them to their natural states. Because the changes were stupid.
Although, Matt, we might maybe have nerfed behe a liiittle bit too far. Maybe. I'm shit at balance.

and for Behemoth...it has what...a lot of Bite Damage? and Hovering?
Could you do something with it? Horns? Barrier Destroy? It has huge tusk-like mandibles...
and a huge Carapace....Deflection Armour?
as big and nasty and badass Behemoth is...one ability is kinda weak, guys...

I really don't know why you think you're capable of criticising smod so much if you haven't even played it for real. Matt can criticise all he wants, but it's not good to base the whole mod team opinion based on only one subjective opinion. |

P.S. Lester, I did play CC ye ages ago, as thoroughly as I could bear to-- I even played it online with FLC a couple times (he tried to train me but was no match for my skill [or lack thereof]). And it was really really bad for me. Like, I could just not enjoy it at all. And after all that excitement upon finding a new mod. Like getting into bed with Visser's mother only to find out she had a raging manly erection (happens all the time). I also downloaded Smod (before I was a regu-poster) and tried that, too, to see if the changes batshite it more enjoyable for me. They batshite it worse. It got deleted. Refused to download it again and that's how all of this started. And Matt, please fix batshite. For the love of Yahweh.
Impossible Creatures is about combining two real things, real animals, to result in something beyond the scope of nature's wonders. If you start with an imaginary stock creature, that isn't the point anymore (and, yes, I was disappointed when Relic introduced the behemoth. But I can accept their decision to include it... Just barely. Plus, I was a tiny tiny babby at that time and for a while I actually thought it might have been a real thing >.>). The thing about IC and the entire real world in general is There are limitations. But you create your creatures to work around the limitations as well as possible. This is the challenge. Imaginary stock creatures is just a way of saying "FUCK LIMITS! THIS IS A VIDEOGAME AND THAT MEANS I CAN DO WHATEVER I WANT!" See also: Wolvey's gas lizard, Wolvey's wyvern, Wolvey's anything else (and yes, I did download Wolverale's mod. Someone had to do it).
Adding aliens (and, dear Jesuuh, frownodons) completely destroyed the whole damn point of the game for me. And it wasn't necessary. Maybe the batshit creatures batshite for some interesting combinations, "adding to diversity". But it's nothing you can't do with animals that already exist. Tel is just a different mod to CC-- it has just as much diversity if not more, just not in the same direction that CC did.
And that's set to increase with TOE.

Hey now. I'm not saying that. I'm just saying that personally, I don't enjoy CC and Smod. I'm not even saying that's a good thing-- shit would be much easier for me if I did. I wouldn't have put all this effort into Tellurian, for one thing.
I hate to play this card, but my opinions are my opinions-- I'm not shitting all over anyone (no matter how often Mrs. Visser asks).
Let's not get confused. Matt, Byam and I are making Tellurian for ourselves. To be honest, I pretty much only play with Matt and Visser anyway, since nobody is ever around, and they like Tel. Ain't nobody forcing you, or anyone else, to use it-- seriously, if CC is so much more diverse, go play that. I don't mind-- it matters not at all to me if anyone else plays Tellurian or not.
