Amnesia is a fucking terrible game.
I got scared only once: when the monstercute first appeared. That was a genuine surprise.
It all went downhill from there. Monstercute popping in and out of existence removing any and all suspension of disbelief coupled with a bad storyline that was just "attached" to the gameplay without the two actually having anything in common made me quit after two hours of pokerface boredom.
Also, what's up with the retardedly bad "scary" moments like when a light turns on by itself? Amnesia, my suspension of disbelief disappeared twelve minutes into the game. I don't give a fuck.
Slender, on the other hand, does this horror thing much better. You basically scare yourself and its interwoven with gameplay brilliantly.
