Doesn't work that way. Throwing your vote to an independent is pretty much wasting a vote. It's pretty much Democrats and Republicans and then a bunch of people noone has ever heard of because they don't have enough money to campaign enough to be known.
Then there's the shit with the electoral college...it's kind of a big mess, honestly.
Independents are there to provide the illusion that there's more than just two candidates. And the two parties are vast parodies of themselves and it's just ridiculous. The States exist as a theocracy disguised as a democracy. and it's pretty much The Religious RIght vs Progressives. And those two sides just try to please whatever demographic.
I would love a re-structured government where the voting class isn't determine by bullshit like "Christian Family Values"
America is still trying to get over retard Puritanical bullshit. Way behind on things that actually fucking matter, like health care and a balanced budget with a strong economy with good ties with foreign powers.
You don't get it. If everyone voted independent, the independent would win.
Obviously. Sadly, dok is right in that there are only two powers that have any say. This is somewhat because of money, and somewhat because the majority of the country is uneducated and unable to sift through the bullshit that is spit out by these "parties" and the media.
My stance on guns? I don't really see a need. I don't have a gun, and the people I am around don't have guns, so there aren't any issues. There are other ways to protect yourself and your home that have been provided to people since the time where guns were slightly necessary. Some of these methods cost money, but really that is what life revolves around.
Now, about my stance on money? Money is a physical object that shows the amount of time someone has worked coupled with their intelligence (including creativity and other factors). You can take of that what you will. I have been away and don't really care to comment on everything that has been said considering the amount of bias.
Oh, and yes, "America" is fucked up. However, how fucked up the people in America are is relative.
