Hello everybody,
I am having some trouble with some of my map names. First, there is a map supposed to be called "Ring" which is indeed called "Ring" in every mode I have except the regular IC mod - there, it doesn't have a name. It is first on the list and I don't know how to rename it. It is really annoying that it is the only nameless map, particularly since I have to see it every time I activate the Player vs. Computer. Second, there are several maps whose names I don't like and would like to change. For example, there is a map called "DeepFreeze" and I don't like the fact that there is no empty space between the two words. Likewise, there is a map called "Teamwork(fixed location only)", and I don't like the fact that the parenthetic text is part of the title. Where and how can I rename these maps?
Thank you in advance

Maps should be in ICROOT\data\scenarios\mp. To edit the titles, open the map in MissionEditor and change the name under Scenario --> Scenarios Properties. Then save, of course. For Relic maps: Extract the file "Engine.sga" with ModPackager ( www.gamefront.com/files/13521409). Then copy the "scenarios" folder inside of Data to your own data folder. Then do the above. For some mappacks, you may need to extract an additional .SGA. I say this because I'm not sure where "Ring" is located. Also, every mod has its own data folder, so if what you are looking for isn't in the main folder, try those.

And bear in mind that if you wish to play multiplayer with anybody who doesn't have the edited version (that is, assuming a title change counts as an edit to the game) it may say they don't have that map installed at all.

Thank you for the replies. I tried to rename the maps by changing the names of the files in the MP folder but not using the Scenario Editor. I hadn't thought of that. It does indeed work. I have been able to resolve the problem with some of the maps but not the others I can't locate. Anyway, I see I really need to see what that ModPackager is and how to work. I will give it a try over the next few days. I suppose that "Ring" is indeed in some .sga file since it is part of a Microsoft pack I downloaded from the Microsoft website. However, that doesn't help me with "Ring of Fire". I will try to find it though. Thank you again.

The maps in the official map pack are indeed in a .SGA.

I will try to find them. Anyway, when I downloaded some of the new maps you provided me with, many three of them had no name as well, just as "Ring". The maps with no name were "Fort", "Atomic Atoll" and "Grove Retaliation". However, relying on your advice, I opened them using the Mission Editor (since they were not in an .sga file) and renamed them. The problem was not that they had no name but that they had some name with symbols and numbers which I suppose couldn't be represented. Anyway, I renamed all of them accordingly. The only remaining problems I have are "Ring", which I can't rename, and "Ring of Fire", which I can't delete (and the maps I still have to extract from their .sga formats).

There was a problem like that once when transferring the CC maps to SMod. Honestly can't remember what caused it or how it was resolved. It's been ages since any of those maps have even been played on.

I don't know what the problem was either, but I renames all of them. I successfully transferred the CC maps into the IC mode using the ModPackager (I finally figured it out - thank you for providing me with it) and almost none of them had names. The ones that did had some names which didn't correspond with the names of their files. For example, there was a map called Scrapyard and another called Twin Icebergs. The latter wasn't even an ice map. Anyway, I renamed them accordingly in the Mission editor and everything is fine now. However, the swamp maps don't work because of the textures.

I know how to fix the swamp maps - I'll have to get back to you on it though.
