Then it must go back to when revan banned will's first account on ich. A very ancient hatred indeed.

Before that. I've hated CC since I found out about it, and Revan didn't like that. Take the banning, for instance. Nobody really knows what I was banned for-- I was spamming a little, but no more than everyone else on ICH, and in any case, that doesn't exactly warrant a full-on IP ban. Especially without any prior warning. Basically, I think he banned me because he didn't like people speaking out against CC.
So in my opinion, he's had it in for me since my very first post on ICH (which was, in fact, a wall-o'-text bitch about CC. It was polite, though-- nothing inflammatory). Add to that some mod envy, and... Well. We were never going to get along. Even writing him romantic ballads wasn't enough to get him to rescind my ban. But my relationship with Revan isn't really relevant.
'Course not. If they apologised and removed Tellanimals, everything would be sweet.
Do I need to remind you what Rock's version of apologising was?
Anyway, Rock's mod wouldn't have mattered if he hadn't had the community's support. Like, I would've been kinda pissed at him personally, but if the community had backed me up and pressured him to remove Telanimals, then I couldn't, in good conscience, have held OT back. It would've merely been the act of one retarded retard. But the fact that folks who Did know our policies supported him proves that there's very little respect for our wishes within the community, nor for the amount of work we put into the mod-- and that, in fact, the majority of people don't really give a fuck about what we want or don't want. So, why should we cater for their wishes?

Revan probably banned you because you didn't do much for the community back then. You didn't really have any credit points.
I spammed much more than you, but I had like 10 map releases at that point.
Also, it's not like he banned Dom, RU and nightie several times. You're not exactly special in that regard.
Also, I don't think it's humanly possible to not support a mod that attempts to fix everything that's broken in the community's only good release in years.

I'm with Lester on this.
I mean I get there was some timing issues with polishing Tell1 and the upcoming release of OT seemed to make it redundant so those issues weren't the highest priority since OT would release and fix those issues. I get that.
But the IC community is a fickle bitch. Tellurian was the only thing going at that point, CC wasn't getting any new support and there was really nothing on the horizon. People just wanted something new, RII filled that need, that niche of something shiny and new as a distraction, fix some issues that would have been fixed anyway.
And I could guarantee if you had released OT anyway people would have jumped ship and started playing that, because it was the newest thing.
If anything could be learned from someone using Tellanimals in another mod, is some experimentation with how they can be used with other creatures, some edits here and there that may be taken into consideration or whatever.
I get where you're coming from Puglin, I really do. I just think the situation could've been handled a bit better (by everyone) But the community only likes these "Mega-Mods" because that's all they have right now. There's nothing out there as an alternative. By keeping OT private, you are creating a Void. Enabling this Void and Creating the problem to begin with, these Mega-Mods.

The best thing to do is to ignore the "megamods" and keep going.

People would have jumped ship and started playing OT-- for a day. Then Rocks would've added the OT models to his mod and released an update. Don't deny.
Don't forget that all Tel releases would probably be unbalanced, because Matt balances them in terms of what we like. We actually can't balance them any other way-- we can't play at Mut's level of skill, so we don't know what's unbalanced until people tell us. So, you can say, why not make a balance team to make sure Tel's good to go before release?
Well, because, if you recall, we tried that.
Everyone says that Rocksmod was so popular because it helped to balance Tel. Which is true. In part. It was also because it had the CC creatures in it. In fact, when we suggested having other people come in to balance Tel, we stalled-- because if they balanced Tel directly, suddenly there's no excuse to make a separate mod with both Tel and CC animals, if you follow me.
Dok, there'll always be mega-mods. Because the problem is not that the community doesn't have anything new to play-- it's that people inevitably say, "Hey. I like aliens and I like giant squids. WHAT IF I COULD COMBINE THEM??".
Reckon that's going to suddenly go away if we give them blue whales to play with, too?

I still don't see anything wrong in Rocks balancing OT.
Also, I didn't play a single game of Rocksmod.

If you see the inevitably of Mega-Mods then why did you make it such a big deal in the first place?
If that's the case, if you see it like that, then why let it bother you?
I've played GS as I've said, and I really....don't like it. When I was working on my sandbox mod I actually did take effort in ironing out a lot of things. It's more like "yeah I see the potential in this, but it needs some work"
I'm actually with you on this. The more I play and look at this stuff, the more of a mess it looks, and I really want a more pure experience. Personally there's a few things I like, such as having some distinction in say....two versions of the same creature for different purposes, in my sandbox mod I have an extra Armadillo called Armadiggo that has Digging and some Claw attack (splitting the damage of the bite from the original) Weaker bite but also has claws, so the overall damage of the stock's melee is the same.
Anyways, I guess my point is. Most of this stuff in GS, it doesn't gel. It is too big. Especially with all of the AnIn stuff on top of everything else from everything ever. I mean I like variety and having a lot of options, but I want GOOD options, y'know?
I dunno maybe having left for awhile and just recently getting back into it, made me see how this stuff goes so wrong.
